Celebrate the spirited elegance of Francis Poulenc, the most well-known of the famous French composers known as Les Six with a programme that captures his wit, lyricism, and colourful instrumentation.
Poulenc’s charm shines through in the playful exchanges and lyrical lines that embody his sophistication and humour. 2 compact, dynamic duets offer another layer of whimsy and conversational interplay , and the evening concludes with his celebrated Sextet for piano and winds, a masterful piece that bursts with energy and character.
This programme offers a delightful journey through the works of one of France’s most beloved composers, revealing his ability to combine elegance and humour with expressive depth.
