SHOWQUEST & TOI 2026
RQP presents Showquest & TOI 2026, a night celebrating creative rangatahi as they bring their ideas to life on stage.
Showquest is a nationwide performing arts programme and a platform for youth voices to be heard. Be amazed by original performances combining Art, Music, Dance, Drama, and Culture & Technology, as students design, produce and perform their stories in celebration and recognition of their community.
Following the Showquest stage performances, prepare to be WOWed with TOI, a show-stopping wearable art showcase featuring bold, imaginative garments by emerging student designers.
Watch friendly inter-school rivalries come to life as students explore the issues that shape their world. Join friends and whānau for an unforgettable night supporting local talent on the big stage.
Showquest and TOI are proudly presented by RQP, champions for young creators and producers of Smokefreerockquest, Smokefree Tangata Beats, Rockshop Bandquest, OnScreen and Stills.

Accessibility
At the Regent, we are committed to providing the best possible experience for all our patrons and ensuring our venue is as accessible as possible.
MOBILITY
Our main entrance offers flat access, and our staff are always happy to assist with doors if needed. Taxis can drop off and pick up directly outside the venue, and we’re happy to arrange a taxi for you after the show.
Accessible toilets are located on the lower level, with a spacious lift providing easy access to these facilities, as well as the Stalls bar and seating area.
We recommend patrons with mobility needs book seats in the Stalls, as the Circle is accessible by stairs only. The Stalls also include nine dedicated wheelchair spaces, each with companion seating available to book.
HEARING ASSISTANCE
We now offer Auracast for enhanced hearing support. You can connect via a compatible device or contact the Box Office to reserve a receiver. More information is available HERE.
VISUAL ASSISTANCE
The Regent welcomes Guide Dogs and offers seating options for the visually impaired. Please advise the Box Office when booking.
Opera glasses are available for hire from the Box Office for $5—just ask when you arrive.
We encourage patrons to discuss any specific requirements with our team when booking so we can help ensure an enjoyable and comfortable experience.
Bar Service
Theatre Etiquette
- Please turn off all your electronic devices before you come into the auditorium.
- If you have taken snacks from our bar back to your seat, try not to rustle when the house lights go down.
- If you are late to a show, get comfortable in our bar area until we can turn the house lights back on so you can find your seat.
- Camera flashes occasionally make performers stumble – over their lines or their feet – so we prefer that you don’t use flash (or any other) photography.
- Please keep your feet on the floor – someone counting the beat on the back of your seat can be distracting.
- Dancing in the aisles sounds like fun but it might make our Circle collapse. If you really need to dance (and it’s the right sort of show), please book seats in the Stalls or make your way out to the foyer.
- We encourage you to introduce your children to the arts, but please also teach them to watch and listen quietly and peacefully.
